Does the battery die when sitting or when the car is used? If the
battery dies after sitting for hours then there is a drain on the
battery. A battery w/ only a surface charge is pretty good at still
starting a car and will keep that surface charge for a while.
Do this. Check Voltage at battery posts with car off. Should be
around 12V. Check voltage at posts w/ car running should be about
14V w/ no accessories on.
If voltage is low w/ car off battery is shot. If voltage is low
when car is running alternator is not working.
