Hello All,

Does the SSC have any literature on a valid/reliable screening parameters for
sepsis on the pregnant patient? We are looking at starting to implement
screening in the outpatient OB triage areas as well as the patients being
admitted. Knowing that there is literature stating there is normally
elevations with HR and elevated WBC in the pregnant woman.

Galvagno, S & Camann, W. (2009). Sepsis and acute renal failure in pregnancy.
Obstetric Anesthesiology, 108 (2). pp.572-575
Lappen, J., Keene, M., Lore, M., Grobman, W., & Gossett, D. (2010). Existing
models fail to predict sepsis in an obstetric population with intrauterine
infection. American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 203 (6). pp.
573-578.

Any thoughts or literature on a screening criteria for this unique population
would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your responses.
