Greetings all -

We are in the process of re-vamping our screening tool and are having a
little bit of discussion about labs and time frames and what's
considered "too old" for identification of Organ Dysfunction and
Inflammatory process during the screening process.

When assessing for inflammatory and organ dysfunction how old can a lab
be?

4 hours

6 hours

8 hours

12 hours

???

Any opinions would certainly be appreciated - we would like to give our
nurses a specific time frame for example "if labs have not been drawn in
X amount of time - contact physician for order, etc" if the labs are
outdated for diagnosis of organ dysfunction we would like to build
obtaining new labs into the tool to help perhaps speed up identification
by having best patient data- would like opinions of what's too old
from the group.

Thanks,

Pat
