Hi Kelly,

We have implemented a Sepsis alert protocol here in Greenville County. We have
had such great success that we have begun drawing cultures, lactates, and
administering ABX in the field during transport. I would be happy to talk to
you about it and share our protocol. We have already seen a 10% decrease in
mortality. Culture contamination rates below 5%, and obviously time to ABX
times for the hospital have gone to zero.

Subject: [Sepsis Groups] Pre-Hospital Sepsis Alert

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone is currently working in a county that has an
established pre-hospital sepsis alert - similar to a stroke or STEMI alert in
which the paramedic would notify the receiving hospital of a potentially septic
patient- and would be willing to provide more information to me on this process.

Thank you,

Kelly Nguyen, MSN, RN
