We have a section in our screening tool for pregnant (or immediate post partum)
patients

WBC >15K, MHR > 110 for gestational age > 20weeks;

FHR > 160 for gestational age > 20 weeks, and >Temp 100.4

We tested it last year and it helped us reduce false positives by over 10%.

Colleagues,

I missed a reference to a specific product in a recent list serv post and
approved that post - my apologies. The SSC list serv practice has been and
continues to be to not approve post queries about specific named products
including their features, endorsements, recommendations or discussions. If you
are new to the list serv, please note this policy. Normally when these types of
posts come to the administrative box, I reach out to the individual posting and
ask that the question be reworded. In this case, I simply missed the reference.
To those that have responded with specific product comments on the string, I
will forward your posts to the author and delete any new posts that come in on
this topic. Thank you for your understanding on this matter and your continued
participation in the Surviving Sepsis Campaign.

Hello All,

Does anyone have a screening tool that they use on their maternity ward?

If we use the standard screening tool then the majority of the patients would
screen positive.

Thank-you,

Cynthia
