Our severe sepsis screening for early identification includes all of the acute organ dysfunctions that CMS outlines for the SEP-1 core measures. Many times it is LA>2 that meets the acute organ dysfunction criteria but it could also be any of the others (Creat >2, bili>2, INR.1.5, etc). We include them all so we have a better chance of identifying severe sepsis early.
