I don't have a firewall on my local machine, and I've just checked the
remote server, there's no firewall on it either. Any further ideas?
BTW, I'm accessing my local Sequoia using the internal IP (192.168....),
and for the remote server, I'm using the real IP address.

database is up. When the firewall is closed, you can connect for a
while but after a while we note there are no ping responses and close
the connection. Your symptoms match that perfectly.
If so, ensure that port 25322 is open for both TCP and UDP packets.
