2,000 Serbians evacuated by Russian rescuers from flood-affected areas

Russian rescuers have evacuated 2,000 people from the flood-hit areas in
Serbia. The Russian government has sent two helicopters to step up evacuation
efforts. “The situation in Obrenovec is difficult, the water isn’t going away,
the people are trying to save themselves in their homes, and on the rooftops.
We’re working closely with Serbian military, police, and rescuers,” Russia’s
Emergency Ministry’s military expert, Eduard Chizhikov, told RIA Novosti.
