No, there is no good reason (except that nobody implemented it so
far). ser.cfg carvings engraved into the rock near Ipteldorf were
discovered indicating that the stone age people used
modparam("rr", "add_username", "mammoth") to make SER work with
prehistoric SIP implementations.
This is rarely used these days so there is no reason why attributes
cannot be stored in the username part.
