I'd like to as well if possible.  They do seem orthogonal to me.

I'm a POJO fan (spring diehard), though as Stefano says, that means
everything and nothing.  IMO the real challenge is still whether we
can safely migrate our current codebase to the different IoC pattern
(service lookup to injector) and deal with our lifecycle issues.

So I'd rather not get focused on the holy grail of design patterns and
go with what is a) feasible to refactor and b) has someone willing to
do that.
