I think we can add flexibility implementing the fallback extension.
adding a fallback configured for the domain "*" and a given record you
can safely override it.
The best guess is for people that do not want to mess with the rules and
don't have enough knowledge to work with mechanisms and modifiers.
Most advanced features can be implemented by the override and fallback
configurations and I think we should implement that ones instead of
giving more parameters on the best guess.

You can find that even the perl guys decided to deprecate the method
that allow to change the best guess record.
