Hi,
Starting James from the spring-deployment module in sandbox is now
reasonable simple and complete. (But your experience might vary, if you
try it on your system ;-))
Important tasks remain to be done, though:
+ Log to one/multiple files (only console currently)
+ enable JMX
+ run RAT
+ check, if the config files are really James vanilla (they probably
aren't) and find out what to do
+ handle ugly "../apps" and "./var" working directories from
james-config.xml by replacing them with configurable defaults; this also
covers changing hardcoded "./src/main/config"
+ add convenience stuff like bin/run.[sh|bat] and create zip/tar files
on dist builds
+ JAMES-803 is still open, one todo remains to be done in TRUNK, for
configuration files on the classpath to become effective
