This kind of makes we wondering why you are repeatedly proposing to
dump TRUNK, but anyway,
+1, for the general approach to backport small changes, but we'd have
to look at every one of them separately.

(BTW, I am NOT proposing to get rid of TRUNK. Whenever I said
something like that it was a _joke_, and _only_ a joke.)

Doesn't sound like a DB schema change qualifies for a dot-Release.
How do you intend to handle migration?
Also, this requires heavy testing.
I'd prefer if this goes into a later release.
