I plan to leave this issue open for a while just in case any other JAMES 
functional tests reveal any little issues.

I agree about the packaging. It's inconsistent ATM. I can see arguments for 
pushing a lot of classes into util or moving all the classes from util into 
main. I'll raise this on list.
