Did you adjust this setting accordingly?
If the problem persists, could you please post the relevant parts of
your Postage scenario configuration?
Right now I see that setting is as localhost, so I'm assuming that needs
to be the bounce2 IP address rather than localhost. I thought it had to
be localhost for the int2int testing, I will change that.
Yes, this has to be the IP/name of the tested server.
I don't think I got that one already. Are there still messages
processed after 10 minutes, or is it just the test runing that long?
The output should give you detailed data when a particular message was
received.
Also keep in mind that if a receiving server is busy, for example
because bandwidth is exhausted, SMTP will re-try to deliver failed
mails in configurable intervals.
The test is running that long despite a 10 minute setting in the
config.xml. It may be that we're exceeding the number of emails we can
process and that is causing the test duration to be that long. I do
notice that the James java process starts to churn through memory during a
test of this nature. The output log does list all the emails but the
bottom portion just echoes my param settings (i.e. 3000 emails/min, 30000
emails sent, etc...)
Mmhhh. I have no idea what the problem is here. Do you see any activity
in the James logs after 10 minutes?
How much parallel threads do you use for sending and receiving and
what network bandwidth do you have?
The bandwidth is 100MB and I believe I set the threads to match those in
the JamesByTheNumber post, 12 spool threads and 20 outgoing threads? If
you tell me the param in the .xml file, I can give you the specifics.
With today's multicore and many GB-RAM machines it is very likely that
the numbers from the JamesByTheNumber wiki page do no longer apply.
If you have new findings, please let us know! Thank you very much!
Bernd
