Felix Knecht commented on JAMES-1179:
-------------------------------------

Do you think about something like jmxterm [1]? It's java and opensource but I'm
not sure about the license. Looking at the source code the pom.xml says it's
Apache 2.0 license, looking at the sourceforge site [1] it says it's
CommonPublicLicense (CPL). I haven't found by quick search any license headers
in other source files. CPL may only be included in within an Apache product if
the inclusion is appropriately labeled [2] .

> At the moment we allow the administrator to administrate james via jmx. This
> works and makes sense but sometimes it would be nice todo "core"
> administration tasks via a commandline util. So it would be easy to addusers
> from a shell etc
