Eric Charles commented on JAMES-1469:
-------------------------------------

Maildir standard is not supported on Windows.
Read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maildir (Filesystem compatibility)
Of course, we could have a mailbox-maildir-windows proprietary solution which
would deal with those incompatibilities.
That module would depend on the mailbox-maildir one, overriding the classes
which deal with the file naming.
We had recently some work on the MaildirMessageName with a nice contribution
(MAILBOX-187)
Feel free to post here if you want directions to work.

Thx, Eric

> James is able to use maildir as Mailbox for incoming Emails on Unix like
> systems. My tests have shown that if i want to use this feature on a Windows
> box i get a lot of Exceptions. But the Email which was received is in the
> Temp directory of the mailbox and can be read.
> Is there any way for this to work on Windows? I mean since the temp file is
> already on the machine i thought maybe there is a workaround to get thin
> feature running on Windows.
> I would appreciate any help or hints regarding this matter.
> I think this feature for Windows in the James SMTP Server would be awesome
> and is definitly needed by a lot of users and companies.
