Matthieu Baechler commented on JAMES-1709: ------------------------------------------ Actually there's already a way to achieve what we described here : just set a hostname (DNSService must be able to resolve the name from the IP for this trick to work). There's another way too : set defaultdomain into domainlist.xml. This second way is half functional, I tried a simple patch to make it work, I'll see if it makes sense and will propose it later. So generally, I agree config files is ok for this. Nonetheless, with docker, it's very frequent to configure a service with only a couple env variable, so it's not definitively a wrong idea. > Domain initialization on start > ------------------------------ > > Key: JAMES-1709 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JAMES-1709 > Project: James Server > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: James Core > Reporter: Matthieu Baechler > > When somebody launch James for the first time, he often wants to have a > domain configured automatically (without using the cli). > James should be able to handle a environment variable DOMAIN. Once started, > the domain should be present into James. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: server-dev-unsubscr...@james.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: server-dev-h...@james.apache.org
