Edgar Asatryan commented on JAMES-2419:
---------------------------------------
[Preferred name syntax|https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1035#section-2.3.1]
defines this rules, also [Size
limits|https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1035#section-2.3.4] defines everything
about each component size.
Please note that we have [test
cases|https://github.com/apache/james-project/blob/master/core/src/test/java/org/apache/james/domainlist/api/DomainTest.java]
breaking RFC definitions.
> Domain object creation with non printable characters.

> Key: JAMES-2419
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JAMES-2419
> Project: James Server
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: James Core
> Affects Versions: 3.0-beta4
> Reporter: Edgar Asatryan
> Priority: Major
>
> Currently it is possible to create *_org.apache.james.core.Domain_* object by
> supplying only space (*0x20*) characters. Allowing to create blank domain is
> at least odd.
> So I divided my question in several parts:
> * Is it allowed to create *_Domain_* object with
> ** only control characters?
> ** control characters in it?
> ** non ASCII characters?
