You are trying to do TLS against a STARTTLS port, which is of course not
supported.
See the screenshot of your PCAP in wireshark: on port 143 (STARTTLS) your
clients aggressively starts a SSL handshake, which is rejected by james
Please review your client configuration (advanced settings?) to do STARTTLS
against port 143 and IMAPS SSL against port 993 this should work better ;-)
