This is unlikely to be an XS or Moodle problem, and more likely to be an XO-1 video decoding and video bandwidth problem ... so you might subscribe to de...@lists.laptop.org and post there asking for advice. I say that because server-devel@ mailing list seems to concentrate on XS problems, and there was no other useful response last time you posted the question. Information that may help others to help you: 1. quantify how long the voice stops, 2. quantify how slow the video is, 3. provide versions of software components on the XO-1, such as the operating system build, the kernel, and Firefox, ... if this is the same problem you posted about on 30th May, then based on your reply on 1st June the operating system is based on Fedora 11, with Sugar 0.84.32, which sounds near enough to OLPC OS 10.1.3 build os860 to be easily reproduced, 4. describe whether Sugar or GNOME desktop are being used, 5. describe the frame rate and resolution of the video content, since these determine the CPU and video bandwidth requirements, 6. provide a sample video file for download that demonstrates the problem, 7. test what CPU utilisation is observed, using top over SSH, 8. verify that all other activities and applications are stopped, so as to minimise background CPU utilisation, 9. see if disabling power management has any impact on video performance. If you can provide a sample video file for download [6] then I can test it on XO-1 with OLPC OS 10.1.3 to at least confirm your diagnosis, and check the file for unusual resolution or frame rate [5]. -- James Cameron http://quozl.linux.org.au/ _______________________________________________ Server-devel mailing list Server-devel@lists.laptop.org http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/server-devel
