In the same directory as your config.xml, you will see a file called environment.xml. In that file, you'll see entries that control the logging for different aspects of James. I think be default they are set to INFO. So, if you just replace INFO with DEBUG, save and then restart James, you should be in business.

Noel (or anyone else),
I hate to be a bother, but I can't seem to determine where I need to set the debug level. Do I need to ascertain the class-name of the spool manager and then set the associated debug level for the logger in the global logging.properties for my SDK?
If the approach above is correct, do you know the fully-qualified name of that class off-hand? :-) I apologize for being a pest, but I'm a rather new James user and am still unfamiliar with convention for where things are and how they operate (ie where do I set the debug level).
I did look through all the config files I found and scanned (searched, that is) for "log" and "debug" but found nothing useful.
Thanks!

Turn on DEBUG for the spool manager log, and see which matcher is sending your mail to the spam processor.
