Hello,

I'd like to hear from people who have, for whatever reason, updated the
libraries in their version of the stable James 2.3.1 *OR* from people who
have tested James 2.3.1 with new version of (expectedly, only a few) said
libraries.

Because James 2.3.1 was released about an year ago, and there are various
updates to the dependency libraries it has, I want to update what really
should be updated, but only if no compromises with reliability are to be
made.

I do realise really well that some libraries are so complex and that they
change so much from version to version that they either would error out
immediately, or they won't but may have serious hidden bugs when interacting
with the other un-upgraded parts of James.

But, for example, the new JavaMail 1.4.1 (and the Activation 1.1.1 library
it depends on), can someone confirm that it really works, and so can be
safely upgraded? What about database support, Derby?

Looking forward to your feedback and advice.
