If you use this:

http://nsis.sourceforge.net/

Then life becomes a lot easier for the James team, since it's open source,
hence less red tape.

According to the ApacheDS documentation:
http://cwiki.apache.org/DIRxSBOX/draft-apache-ds-installers-documentation.html

The installer can be run on any OS (Linux, OS X, etc.).

I think ApacheDS also has this wrapped in a maven mojo and incorporated into
the build process. The same approach is used to build installers for Solaris,
Linux, etc. so it's a good baseline to work off of. I'm sure the James project
would appreciate something that is simple to maintain and is generated as an
artifact of the build process.

Cheers,
- Ole
