Sul,

"You can send many attachments at the same time if you like to speed things up."

do i need to change anything in the config.xml file that is regarding to
attachement

When you download the software, the config.xml file doesn't have any settings which enable Bayesian analysis. However, once you have edited this file and enabled Bayesian filtering then sending 'ham' or 'spam' messages as attachments is the standard way of training the filter.

For this to work you have to change the pipeline settings in your config.xml file to intercept your training emails at two special addresses (you can change what these are) one is reserved for spam and one for ham - and pass them on to the Bayesian code to use for training purposes.

In my case, when I receive some spam messages I create a new email in my email client (Thunderbird for example) addressed to '[email protected]' and add all the spam messages as attachments to this new email and then send it. Because I've set up my email client to logon to the James server and authenticate in the usual way, James will happily accept these training emails even though the apparent email address is not real (the domain xxx.yyy does not really exist).

Have a good read of the entire email thread I gave you the link for as that will answer your questions I'm sure... http://www.nabble.com/How-do-I-reduce-SPAM-to21763054.html#a21763054
