Hi,

Why not use the built in starttls functionality which is TLS over port 25.
starttls is widely supported by mail servers and seems to fit your requirements?

Kind regards,

Johnny Minty

Subject: SMTP and SMTPS

Hello,

Is it possible to run the SMTP service of James with SMTP port 25 and SMTPS
port 465 at the same time? I am able to run both SMTP and SMTPS
independently. But am not sure how to run them in parallel. My interest is
that I want to run the secure SMTP with port 465 first and in case
connection to the secure SMTP fails, it will be defaulted to plain SMTP
under port 25.

regards,
