I had an issue with james regarding the lack of feedback in the logs from remote mail exchangers when sending email. Another person following this list posted a log4j file that much improved things. You still don't see the raw response from the remote MX, but at least, with this file in place, james gives it's own assessment of what happens when you send mail.
