Leveraging the SID for Service Oriented Architecture
Co-sponsored by:One of the most important parts of the TM Forum's technical work is to provide standards and frameworks to reduce the 'integration tax' levied against service providers' (SPs) with the vast amounts spent annually integrating telco software and systems.
One of the most 'taxing' aspects of integrating business applications is ensuring the validity of data exchanged between systems. This is where the TM Forum's SID (Shared Information/Data) model is crucial. By acting as an information mediator between systems, it enables the development of 'loosely coupled' systems which can make up the Service Oriented Architectures (SOAs) SPs know they must develop to compete in the 21st Century.
To learn how the SID will play a major role in the development of the SOA you must attend the TM Forum's 'Leveraging the SID for Service Oriented Architecture' Webinar on September 29th, 2005, co-sponsored by Pantero and IBM.
The TM Forum's Stephen Gaito will outline what the SID is, how it works, and will highlight recent SID developments. You will acquire an understanding of the concepts and an appreciation of the value of the SID as an information model representing 'real world' objects.
Pano Anthos, CEO of Pantero, and Bob Pucci, Telecommunications Solutions Architect for IBM, will co-present a case study describing how Pantero's software combined with IBM's leading SOA platform provides the tools to make the SID practical for OSS/BSS integration in an SOA, transforming the SID from a logical concept to a functioning reality and delivering real results in reducing the 'integration tax'.
Participants will take away:
An understanding of the information model concept behind the SID, how the SID works and contributes to the NGOSS framework, and how it can benefit TM Forum members.
A case study of how SID is being used in the real world to accelerate OSS/BSS integration and new service delivery in an SOA.
