It sounds like a splendid idea. I would
be up for presenting/participating in that.

A group of us is proposing to
hold a SOA Conference & Exhibition in
South-West Europe in about a year's time. As
well as SOA we could
examine associated enterprise application
architecture themes such as
BPM, Composite Apps, EDA, Integration, Middleware
etc.
As well as the normal seminar/exhibition format, I
thought it would
be usful nad more fun to have some interactive
subevents. How about
a live debate with multiplex video feed on some
topic dear to this
Group's heart? Examples could include
"REST vs. unREST", "Are ESBs a
passing fad?", "Registries and
Repositories" etc. We could also
organise an interoperability demo or two. I would
like to take the
opportunity of moderating what I would like to
think is one of the
better SOA Groups to invite you to get involved in
a positive way.
So, please send us your suggestions.
Obviously some of you will want
to get actively involved as speakers, exhibitors,
debaters, gurus etc.
Date: In about 12 months
Locale: Probably Andorra,
but others would be considered providing
the place is attractive and reasonable in cost,
e.g. Seville.
Andorra, BTW, is incredibly reasonable. Food, scenery and climate
are
excellent as well. You can also send your
wives/husbands off
shopping, opening bank accounts or on tours to see
the spectacular
scenery. Drink is cheap and readily
available. We could organise a
good band and a bit of a knees-up.
