very good set of question and a challenge certainly.

I do indeed feel that WS-CDL can be used to define (in the sense of 
modeling it) an SOA. It is not the definition of SOA but a way to 
define a specific SOA that has to do something.

I do feel there are some things missing, namely direct support for 
publish and subscribe, but that is in part to do with WSDL and it's 
lack of support for publish and subscribe.

I hope to provide some concrete examples as to how this can be done in 
due course and will publish them on the www.pi4tech.com website.
