Subject: [service-orientated-architecture] SOA and Jini

"Okay has anyone else had enough of this? Is this the Jini list or the
SOA list?"

Not me -- I find this discussion relevant. Understanding Jini even if
one has no intention of using it in production would help to understand
more about SOA generally.

"We should not have to wrap everything in one technology/
language."

There are principles to be learned, but also there are practical issues
to be discovered -- perhaps using Jini and even Java wrappers around
other technologies could be a viable approach to a technical
implementation of an SOA.

"There is a Jini group that much of this advice would be more
appropriate..."

But this is a general discussion list for SOA. This is not a SOAP list
or a xyz-approach to SOA list. I would not want to put different
approaches into their own silos to quickly.
