Getting off topic probably but I was surprised by the following
statement...
> Wikipedia is now full of nonsense and vanity publishing.
Wikipedia, like every wiki I've used, is uneven in quality. That's the
nature of a wiki. I've been disappointed in only a small percentage of
topics, and unfortunately I was not knowledgable enough to improve
those.
We use a wiki here as we explore SOA. Like the others, some pages are
better than others. The lesser ones are usually not worth improving at
the moment, or someone would be doing that.
> I have noticed it being quoted more and more in respectable
publications
I would be concerned about that too, depending on how the quote is used.
On the other hand, I have also been noticing over the last few years
other ways that "respectable publications" have lost my respect in the
computing field. Little understanding of the history of computing,
informal and loose terminology, etc.
