If it is ATOM, then there would be an introspection document,
workspaces, collections, and as someone mentioned a few days ago, ATOM
is moving toward specifications of acceptable resources and entry
types for various collections.
This is moving along and can be implemented with a good bit lower cost
than the vendor products. I think the writing is on the wall and it's
a matter of time. Significant vendor investments today may be for naught.
My preference would be to do the simplest things that could possibly
work while the industry moves on. Let someone else make the big
mistakes. "Service Orient with Agility or be Doomed!"
