Well, it was your claim, so I'll try to give you something than leans
in favor of WS-*. 8^)

Let's consider the master data distribution problem mentioned a week
or so ago. Say there are a number of systems where some master data
can be created currently, but the organization is running into quality
problems due to (sometimes partially) duplicate entry, etc.

There are also many more systems where that master data is used. In
most cases there is too much data (it may be customers, suppliers,
material, etc.) for people to simply list and pick it. Instead some
kind of criteria would be helpful to narrow the list down before picking.

When any new data is created, some kind of matching would be helpful
to avoid duplication. And some kind of cleansing would be helpful to
help make the definitions "canonical" to aid future matching.

Each of these existing (and potentially new) systems will have their
own formats, restrictions, etc. Not all the systems will have all the
data. And there may be security restrictions about which systems can
have which data at certain times in the data's lifecycle.

I am sure this is a purely contrived example, and bears no resemblence
to the actual systems in the IT organizations of this group's
participants.
