I think WS-RX over the internet and bridging domains
of AMQP (whether layered under JMS or some other API
is immaterial to be honest), is the way to go in
general. However, there may be good reasons for
looking at SOAP/AMQP behind the corporate firewall,
where the need for HTTP isn't as strict but
performance is the keyword. I think it's too early to
call it one way or another, but I'd certainly not rule
it out.

Mark.

suggesting a mixture of the two - an Open JMS
implementation with a well-defined wire protocol and
then bridging into Web Services. I personally think if
we can make WSRM/RX fast enough then we can get very
wide adoption.

WSO2 Tungsten implements it as does code from IBM and
others. RM is "just" a wire protocol and doesn't talk
about implementations, but certainly the Apache
implementation was designed to support persistent
reliability.
