Michael, perhaps you can clarify what you think the "changes in the enterprise
business model" are from your perspective? It's hard for me to imagine what
your needs are. The "minimal amount of software", from my perspective, is the
software that can execute the needed work, combined with the software needed to
provide "communications" associated with that work. Communications implies
dealing with the 7/8 fallacies of distributed computing at whatever level your
business needs are. If you can wait to fix the network/computer till tomorrow,
your needs are different than if you need 24/7 operations.
