Note that this doesn't mean Jan is wrong, only that he was using
"opaque" in a different way than Roy uses there.  Roy meant
"completely opaque", whereas I expect Jan meant "except where the
interpretation is licensed by an associated specification".  Also, the
rules are different for humans than automata; automata benefit more
from sticking to the specs than humans do because humans are more
adaptable.
