I agree. And obviously my simple view is also simplistic. I know that
in real-life, things get harder. But sometimes its useful to strip
away the complexities and look for the simplest viewpoint.

I agree. I think its an approach which scales up to a wider set of
integration better than a point-to-point architecture. I think it has
more difficulties with enabling legacy SOA-enablement than a more
point-to-point architecture.
