Hey, the OASIS SOA RM is 31 pages long. That hardly counts as "tight". I
suspect you mean the definition given in the glossary of the RM on
page 29: Service
Oriented Architecture is a paradigm for organizing and utilizing distributed
capabilities that may be under the control of different ownership domains.
It provides a uniform means to offer, discover, interact with and use
capabilities to produce desired effects consistent with measurable
preconditions and expectations.

No need to repeat it. Let's just agree to disagree as to whether the OASIS
SOA RM definition of SOA is specific. But I will say that it sounds about as
specific as "to form, coordinate, or blend into a functioning or
unified whole : unite".
