Saying that SOA is integration isn't calling for the use of piggies. 
Perhaps that is the root of the disagreement? "Integration" implies the 
use of tools you don't like? Integration doesn't mean that any 
particular tools need to be involved.

At the risk of heading us down yet another tangent....

Consider that your desktop web browser is integrated with all web 
servers in the world. By agreeing to protocols and formats, these 
independent components present an integrated solution to all us users.
