SOA, i.e. service orientation, is the core of the enterprise business. If such orientation would be cascaded down to the low-level business operational teams and to IT, this will exactly address "strategic alignment", not only between Business and IT but also between Business and Market (external environment).
Thus, all "business processes" would be working within their business services and IT products would address business strategic goals first, and daily operations - second (as a left-overs of previous strategic goals adopted to the market changes). Unfortunately, today, we have a reversed picture where IT contribution into strategic business goals is steadily disappearing on the way from IT to the business top. - Michael ________________________________ From: Hicham ELASRI <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, January 8, 2009 2:35:24 PM Subject: [service-orientated-architecture] SOA and strategic alignment how can SOA contribue in the strategic alignment?
