Software bugs and complexity are a minor problem compared to what happens to a 
software system which is distributed and utilizing remote service access for 
things which used to be done locally in the same process.

The complexity of distributed systems design is all too often overlooked...

Look how many of the features of Jini are slowly creeping to the forefront of 
conversation and requirements for SOA software technologies.  People are 
finally 
realizing what things are necessary, besides the trivial "send stuff from X to 
Y".
