Hello, I am using Xfce on Fedora 27. This is in reference to the jconsole.desktop file. On my operation system, the current file is called:
/usr/share/java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.181-7.b13.fc27.x86_64-jconsole.desktop
The name, which is used for the application menu, is:
Name=OpenJDK 8 Monitoring & Management Console 1.8.0.181-7.b13.fc27.x86_64
I constantly have to go edit the file and shorten the name because it really makes the Development subsection of the Application menu very lopsided. And, even though I do edit it, every update of OpenJDK I have to do it again.
So, I'd like to put in a request that you shorten the name. Removing the long version string would be a good start:
Name=OpenJDK 8 Monitoring & Management Console
even better would be:
Name=OpenJDK 8 Console
