Hi Bruce,
Thanks for your answer, but still I do not get it fully. Many of the
things listed in your blog is already in ServiceMix. It would be nice to
see a list of what is in FUSE and is not in ServiceMix. For instance,
Jetty is used in ServiceMix as well, or am I wrong? jUDDI is on the
other hand not in ServiceMix.
Yes, Jetty is used in the servicemix-http component, but it is not
widely available for deploying web applicaitons unless you know the
directories that it's using. Jetty has been made directly accessible
in FUSE so that developers can more easily make use of it. Correct,
jUDDI is another addition in FUSE as it is not part of ServiceMix. I
encourage you to read the Intro to FUSE document available here:
http://www.logicblaze.com/docs/Intro_to_FUSE.pdf
Think about my comparison of FUSE to RedHat Linux. RedHat Linux
repackages a bunch of open source software, tacks on some additional
value and then offers support and services. This is exactly what we do
with FUSE. Currently, the one big addition to FUSE is the browser
based management console. We're also working on tooling for the next
FUSE release. The first cut of which is due on in August/September
timeframe.
Does this help?
