You can register listeners on events.
Take a look at the org.apache.servicemix.jbi.events package.

We're being thinking about some strategies to execute 'tasks' on
Servicemix
startup/shutdown, and we're doing some research:
- find a way to send a message to a service just after start
- maybe use the life cycle of a component (overriding start-stop methods)

There would be others, we guess...
