Any server can support servlets, even those that do not think they do :)

I have a pair of CGI programs (one in Perl, one in C for *nix) that
forward requests to a JServ servlet engine
(http://java.apache.org/jserv). The initial configuration of JServ is a
little messy, but the entire system can be run without needing to touch
the web server's configuration.

If you are setting up a new server I would say go with one of the
servlet-capable servers, but if you already have a server installed this
might have a solution for you. (BTW, both programs are going to be
either GPL'd or Apache-licensed)

Cheers,
Chris
