Hi,
You need to properly configure Apache's authentication. This means
that you will instruct it that for certain paths (e.g. /servlet/*)
to apply certain auth policy (like Basic authentication) for
an existing user list.
I'm not very familiar with Apache on NT but I don't think it is
able to authenticate against the existing NT system user list.
Mabe I'm wrong and there is an specific apache authorisation module
to handle that.

I bet the same is available in servlet environment if you use
IIS / ( JRun or ServletExec or another_servlet_engine_for_IIS )
