Hello all,
We have been running our servlets in development on NT with IIS and
WebSphere v2.01. All has been going smoothly, including performance when
accessing our servlets via Netscape 4.5 and IE 4.0 browsers. FYI: jdk
1.1.7b.
We have recently moved our servlets to a testing environment: Unix Solaris
2.6 / Apache 1.3.3 (ported for IBM Websphere) and we have a catch. Netscape
browsers still perform fine, but IE now is about 10 times sloooooower?
We think we have narrowed it down to the redirects to SHTML that our
servlets perform by doing the following:
We made a HelloWorld servlet that just spits back HTML and that works fine
with IE, but as soon as we add a redirect to an SHTML page, the IE slow down
begins. At this point, our SHTML page also just returns HelloWorld HTML
body.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Mike.
