Note -- it is up to the servlet engine to determine the mime type for
any particular resource.

It's an optional section of the servlet specification -- it is an
evolution of a system that has been at work for sometime in the Java Web
Server.

Please submit to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" -- I don't want to
shortcut any discussion here -- but this is not a direct forum for
specification input. We have a process in place to take feedback,
evaluate it, produce a specification, submit it to limited review by our
"expert group", and then submit it to long term public review. We'll be
following this process for the next version of the spec.
