I have seen requests several times on SERVLET-INTEREST and
JSP-INTEREST for information on commercial sites using
servlets and JSP.
Well, I just bumped into one and I thought people would be
interested to know about it. American Century (the mutual
fund company) just revamped their web site... and it seems to
make extensive use of servlets and JSP. Their default page
is named "/index.jsp". I have seen many pages that end with
".jsp" or begin with "/servlet". Functionality that appears
to be implemented with servlets/jsp includes: fund information,
account information (funds, balances, history), online investing,
news, etc.. (NOTE: I am not associated with American Century
or their web site, other than being a customer. That is how I
happened on the site.)
I am very impressed with this site. If the implementors of the
new American Century site are on the list, it would be nice if
they could publish a summary of their experiences with servlets/jsp
and with running a high-volume site based on this technology.
